Assignment 16A- What’s Your Secret Sauce?

Assignment 16A- What’s Your Secret Sauce?

Five ways in which I think I have Human Capital-

1.     Communication- One thing I really thrive at is making sure that everyone is on the same page and is communicating everything properly. I really enjoy making sure that everyone is working together and is expressing any problems or roadblocks that may come up.

2.     Compassion- Something I really strive for is making sure that I am considering everyone in a group and their feelings. Having compassion allows me to actually consider their point of view and make a decision going forward.

3.     Passion- Whatever I do I like to put my all into it whether it be a small task or a large scale project. I will never turn something in with my name on it without putting everything I have into it.

4.     Energy- One thing I really strive to do is make sure that I am effectively communicating my enthusiasm and passion through my energy. My energy really allows me to push forward in life and make sure that everyone in the room has the chance to share their own shine.

5.     Courage- There is honestly nothing I am afraid of trying because life is too short to not try everything at least once. I tend to push forward through fear and make sure that I am not missing any opportunity just due to fear.

Reflection-

I think the way I see myself is a lot different than the way others see me. I feel like this is because my outside persona is a lot more confident than my actual self. I use the five sources of human capital to portray someone who is so much better than me just so that I can continue thriving in life. I have several insecurities that I feel constantly but in terms of talking and communicating with others I tend to be more outgoing. A lot of people think I am an extrovert just because I thrive in small groups of six or seven, however in large groups I shut down showing my true colors of an introvert.

  1. Hey CJ,

I also found that other's reflections of me were mostly accurate but that there were some omissions that I would like others to recognize. I'm introverted in groups of more than 3-4 so I have had people say that I come off as standoffish or stuck up when in reality, I'm simply shy and observing my surroundings. I think that this assignment has helped to bring that acknowledgement to the forefront, though, and it allows us to work on putting forth our best self so that others can truly see what we are made of.

  3. For my assignment I too made myself out to be a better person than what I truly am. But it's super cool to see what you want to be portrayed as be kind of clarified by your friends or family who do actually see you as that type of person even if you don't fully believe it. Also your links didn't work!

  4. Charles, I can relate to you when you speak about being an extrovert in small groups and then naturally shift toward being an introvert with a large group of people. It's good that you recognize that and can take advantage of both sides. I like how you mentioned that you're passion. Most people do things for fame or money, not because they're self-driven or because they truly care about what they are doing. Props to you!
